Does your preschooler love to identify every object in sight? How about fruits and vegetables? Today I will be sharing with you our Farmer’s Market Preschool Theme Pretend Play activity that I did with my son, C. He loves to identify things he knows and he let’s you know that he understands. How do you ask? If he feels that you are not listening, he will come up to your face and grab it and say the words again to ensure that you are giving him 100% of your attention. I chose to play farmer’s market with my kids and I especially chose to work on vocabulary.
To play all you really need are a few things that you probably already have on hand.
- fruits and vegetables (real or fake)
- 3 part cards (scroll to the bottom of the page)
HOW TO PLAY
FIRST you want to start by choosing what fruits and vegetables you want to focus on. If you don’t have any fake fruits and vegetables, simply use real ones!
SECOND, identify the fruits and vegetables that you have in front of you.
THIRD pretend to be buying an item from the farmer’s market.
FOURTH start matching up the fruits with the 3-part cards. Also see if they can find the matching fruit for each 3 part card that you use.
How much are the bananas? May I have some bananas please?
