I am so excited to share our fun bugs kids math game today! My daughter had so many giggles and I can truly say it was such a great bonding moment pretending to be a mad scientist in our bug lab. And the best part was how simple it was- there was no crazy printing or excessive cutting of game pieces and we had all the things on hand. Ok, before I keep chatting let me just say that our activity is a part of the #toolsforlearning series and our challenge for the week is play dough tools.
Bug Lab- A Fun Bugs Kids Math Game
Before you can start all the fun you need a few things: (Please note that affiliate links are used below for your convenience):
- Cardstock
for printing
- Printer (we absolutely love our Epson Stylus NX530
)
- Play dough
- Play dough accessories (beads, googly eyes etc)
- Bug Lab (at the end of this post)
How To Play
1.Print the bug cards on cardstock or on regular paper and then cut out the bug cards.
2.Place the cards in a stack and have playdough as well as playdough tools on hand. Some colours to have handy are blue, yellow and pink.
3.Allow your child to pick a card and recreate each bug as well as the number of bugs given. If a card with the #1 and a ladybug is chosen, it means that they need to create 1 ladybug.
